Price

£15.00

A gentle, hands‑on AQA‑accredited unit introducing children to plants, growth, and the natural world.

Our Introduction to Plant Life AQA Unit is designed for SEND learners, home‑educated children, and nature‑curious families who thrive with calm, sensory‑rich, low‑pressure learning.

This Entry Level unit helps children explore how plants grow, why they matter, and how to care for them through real‑world observation and simple, accessible activities.

Learners will:

  • identify the key things plants need to grow (sunlight, water, soil, air)

  • recognise different types of plants

  • observe and describe at least one plant in detail

  • take part in a plant‑related activity such as planting seeds, watering, or nature crafts

  • understand why plants are important for people, animals and the environment

  • learn the main ways to care for a plant

  • explore plant life in a real‑world setting such as a garden, park or woodland

  • understand the basic life cycle of a plant

  • notice how plants change over time

  • recognise that different plants can look and feel different (texture, colour, shape)

This unit is perfect for:

  • home education

  • SEND and neurodivergent learners

  • early years and primary nature study

  • forest school and outdoor learning

  • gentle, interest‑led science learning

Children learn through noticing, observing, exploring and hands‑on experiences, with no pressure, no tests, and no worksheets required.

On completion, learners receive an official AQA Unit Award Scheme certificate celebrating their achievements.

Important: Enrol Your Child as an AQA UAS Student First

To complete this unit and receive certification, your child must be registered as an AQA Unit Award Scheme student with Where The Wild Ones Learn before beginning the activities. This ensures all evidence can be logged correctly and the certificate can be issued.
